PowerPoint Presentation

Book Report Project (#1)                             name:  _____________________________________

Your task is to create a short PowerPoint presentation about your book.  Much of what is needed on the PowerPoint you can find on your fact-finding sheet about your book.  Use these ideas you have discovered and, as always, check over your work for spelling and DOL type of mistakes.

Slide Transitions, animations, and sounds are at your discretion, but they will not earn you any points.  THEREFORE, only spend time on those when you have finished including the requirements. 

POWERPOINT BASICS:
·         All typing in AT LEAST size 16 font
·         No crazy fonts – make them readable
·         Use dark on light, and light on dark techniques (think of the hearaldry)
·         ALWAYS include a TITLE at the top of each slide (Character, Setting, Plot, Intro, Conclusion)
·         ALWAYS save your work in your own documents folder.  Be sure to check this!  Don’t save it on a specific computer, or you won’t be able to access it.
·         I will take off 5 points for each spelling/DOL mistake I see on your presentation
REQUIRED:  You need to include the following elements in your PowerPoint:

A.  an introduction slide which includes the name of your book, the author, publishing company

    -  Extra Credit (5 points) – find & include a photo of your book’s cover

B.  at least ONE slide which describes your MAIN CHARACTER or your most FAVORITE character.

   -  Extra Credit (5 points) – find & include a photo or representation of your character

C.  at least ONE slide which describes the SETTING of your story. 

   -  Extra Credit (5 points) -  find & include a photo representation of what the setting was

D.  at least ONE slide which lists the major events of the story (the PLOT)

   -  Extra Credit (5 points) -  find & include a photo(s) representing an event(s) from the story

E.  one conclusion slide where you give your opinion on the book, give it a rating of 1-5, your recommendation (or not!), and what you have learned. 
CHOICES:  You need to choose 2 of the following to add to your PowerPoint.  If you choose more than 2, they will be extra credit.  Each is worth 15 points:
15 points  or 1.  Create an EXTRA slide which describes the MOOD or TONE of your story.
15 points  or 2.  Include your GarageBand song to be playing during your PowerPoint.
15 points  or 3.  Create an EXTRA slide which describes one or more of the other characters in the story.
15 points  or 4.  Create an EXTRA slide which describes the ENDING or CONCLUSION of your story.
15 points 5.  Create an EXTRA slide which describes the MAIN IDEA or THEME of your story.
